Ride Solar
Around six XR moments dropped into a historic walking tour and a food-and-drink tour in Atlantic Canada.
Overview
See Reality partnered with Ride Solar to put XR inside two live tours: a historic walking tour and a food-and-drink tour where the immersive content is tied to what is being eaten and where it came from. The operator advertises four time moments on the walk and three on the tasting.
Guests step onto a 19th-century lobster boat and deal with the crew, meet the figures behind Canadian Confederation, walk a market of the Anne of Green Gables era, and run into dinosaurs — all without the tour stopping. The design question was pacing rather than fidelity: each segment has to end cleanly enough that a guide can pick the group back up and walk them to the next stop.
My part: the experience manager that runs every scene, the branching dialogue system for the John Hamilton Gray encounter, the cannon and the dinosaurs brought over from Boston, the rebuilt lobster trap, and the single launchable build. The lobster boat and crew are another developer’s work on the team.
Next
See Reality
Hand-tracked mixed reality for people who have never worn a headset, running inside live guided tours — Boston, Lexington, Nashville, Atlantic Canada, Rome, Pompeii, Venice.
Inhabiting Memory
A VR family museum you enter on foot — real walking inside each room, hand-tracked teleport between them, built from interviews and tested against flat photographs.
Case study I Am You
You are not the hiker. You are the trail camera watching him, steering his body.
Case study Recollection
A wedding or any milestone, recorded from every direction, so nobody is stuck with one person’s edit of it.
